    Select from the topic areas to view essays about the roles women have played in history. Wherever possible, examples of women on the website are used.

  5. Featured Archives
    Highlights the archives of Anne Lister, the West Riding Pauper Lunatic Asylum, the Brontës and the George Henry Wood collection. Material is examined in more detail and includes a selection of transcripts of the Anne Lister’s diaries and asylum records.
  6. Learning Materials
    Targeted at children it includes fact files, worksheets, quizzes and activities. ‘Life in a Lunatic Asylum’ is designed for 7–11 year olds and ‘Women at War’ is designed for 11–14 year olds.
