History. Patient left this Asylum in March at the request of her friends, and
got on fairly well up to a month ago. Employed regularly at her household duties.
She then became negligent, slowly and developed elusions. She persists in saying
her husband is not hers and was married to her and says he has poisoned her,
held her down to the boards and twice tried to murder her, she has been excited,
violent and unmanageable but not suicidal. She has lost sleep but taken her
food.
Family History. Her mother (Rachel Middleton) was an inmate of the asylum and
died here. Her mother’s sister has also been insane. No Apoplexy, Epilepsy
or Phthisis in family.
Personal History. She has been a steady, sober, industrious woman and was never
suspected to have been weak minded. Causation assigned
